We are excited to announce that Jahaira DeAlto will be our Conference Keynote Speaker!
Jahaira DeAlto (@JahairasMission) is a leader and advocate from Boston who organizes through an immigrant trans* radical womanist praxis. Her work in social justice began in 1997 with the Chanelle Pickett murder trial. Notably, she has spoken at the Ryan White Youth Conference on HIV/AIDS, the Hetrick-Martin School, and Harvard University. Most recently, she was a guest-lecturer at Columbia University’s School of Social Work. Currently she lives and attends college in Pittsfield, MA, where she sits on the boards of both the Berkshire Pride Committee and the LGBTQIA+ Access Project at the Elizabeth Freeman Center. She believes in reparations, intersectional freedom, and the healing properties of mango sorbet.
